The Draft Bakersfield 2045 General Plan Update is available for public review from July 8 to September 27. Community members are encouraged to review the draft document and provide comments during the public review period through the below form or by emailing comments to Bakersfield2045@bakersfieldcity.us.

Your feedback will help shape Bakersfield's future vision for housing, mobility, economic development, parks, and more.

Notice of Preparation of an Environmental Impact Report for the Bakersfield Rise 2045 General Plan

The Notice of Preparation (NOP) is the official first step in the environmental review process for the Bakersfield RISE 2045 General Plan. It signals that the City is preparing a Programmatic Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) to analyze how the General Plan may affect the environment and invites public and agency input on what topics that review should cover.

Bakersfield RISE Existing Conditions Background Report (ECBR)

The ECBR provides a snapshot of Bakersfield as of 2022 – everything from land use and mobility patterns, to economic conditions, to natural and cultural resources, and other physical, environmental, and quality of life topics. The ECBR lays out the foundational understanding of Bakersfield and its community.
